Frederick C. Few boys who thoughtfully assess their education at Belmont Hill canfail to realize their very real debt to the School'sfaculty or to acknowledge their abiding respect for many of their teachers. More than this respect and appreciation, however, is the friendship that manyfeelfor these men who have been genuinely concerned with their growth of mind and heart.

He teaches French. A graduate of Belmont Hill, , Mr. Sawyer was graduated from Harvard in and joined the faculty that same year to teach English and Latin. He is faculty adviser to the Sextant.

Maxwell was graduated from Colby in and came to the Hill in He is head of the mathematics department. Howland graduated from Wesleyan in , and received his A. He came to School in He is head of the modern languages department and is head coach of tennis. A graduate of Dartmouth in , Mr. Mattlage came to Belmont Hill in to teach physics and mathematics. He was awarded his master's degree by Harvard in He is head of the science department.

Togneri since has directed the work in painting, drawing, modeling, and crafts. He also supervises work on the Sixth Form panels. Gregg, Harvard '38, came to Belmont Hill in He took his A.
